Zaysan Airport Construction Project

Project Description: The project entails the construction of a new airport in the village of Satpay, located approximately 28 kilometers from the city of Zaysan in the East Kazakhstan Region. This initiative aims to enhance regional tourism and improve the quality of life for local residents by providing modern transportation infrastructure.

Current Status: As of January 2025, the development of design and estimate documentation for the airport is underway. The construction is planned to be completed by the end of 2025, with the airport expected to be operational in 2026.

Other Important Details:

• The initial phase includes constructing a runway measuring 2,200 meters in length and 35 meters in width, suitable for aircraft such as the Q400, ATR 42/72, and CRJ200.

• Future plans involve extending the runway to 2,600 meters in length and 45 meters in width to accommodate larger aircraft like the Airbus A320 and Boeing 737.

• The project also encompasses the development of modern infrastructure, including new roads and logistics facilities, to enhance transportation accessibility in the region.
