Project Description:

Zhaik Petroleum Ltd is developing a gas-chemical complex in the West Kazakhstan region, aiming to produce AA-grade methanol. The plant is designed with an annual production capacity of 130,000 to 350,000 metric tons, utilizing natural gas as the primary feedstock. This initiative seeks to reduce Kazakhstan's dependency on imported methanol and bolster the domestic petrochemical industry.

Current Status:

As of April 2025, the project is underway. According to GlobalData, commercial launch of the complex is expected in 2029. Earlier it was planned to start production at the end of 2024, but the timeline was revised.
