Shalkar Gas Exploration Project

Project Description:The Shalkar Gas Exploration Project is a strategic initiative aimed at expanding Kazakhstan's natural gas resource base. Located in the Aktobe region, the project is a collaboration between the national gas company QazaqGaz and the private investor KOR Oil Company JSC. Shalqar Energy LLP serves as the project operator. The project involves the drilling of exploratory wells to assess gas reserves, with the first well scheduled for June 2025. Geological and preparatory work has been completed, including the analysis of seismic data and basin modeling. The project operates under an Improved Model Contract (IMC), offering incentives at the production stage to attract investment and emphasize the strategic importance of increasing gas production in the country.
