$1 Bln Restoration of Public Roads of Republican Significance

Restoration of Public Roads of Republican Significance aims to enhance Kazakhstan's road infrastructure by rehabilitating and upgrading over 8,254 kilometers of republican roads in 2025. This includes the construction and reconstruction of 994 kilometers, capital repairs of 390 kilometers, and medium repairs of 6,900 kilometers.

The project seeks to improve national and regional connectivity, enhance road safety, and support economic development across the country. It is expected to create approximately 31,000 jobs and attract additional investments. The initiative is part of a larger plan to modernize Kazakhstan's transport network, with a focus on increasing road capacity and efficiency. The execution of this project will involve various stakeholders, including local construction firms and international financial institutions.

With confirmed funding for 9,500 kilometers of roadwork, the project is set to significantly boost Kazakhstan's transportation infrastructure and support its economic growth objectives.

Investor:

  • Development Bank of Kazakhstan (DBK): Provides long-term financing for the project. Under the agreement, DBK allocates credit funds of KZT 450 billion to JSC "KazAvtoZhol."

  • Government of the Republic of Kazakhstan: Provides a state guarantee for the loan attracted by JSC "KazAvtoZhol" for the implementation of the project. This ensures the company's obligations on the loan amounting to up to $1 billion.

Company Details: JSC "National Company "KazAvtoZhol"

General Contractor: JSC "National Company "KazAvtoZhol" acts as the main executor of the project, responsible for implementing repair and restoration works on republican roads.

Engineering Contractor: To be determined through a competitive bidding process

    • 86 km upgrading for regional connectivity.

  7. Rudny Bypass

    • 16.9 km bypass to enhance traffic movement.

  8. Zhanaozen–Kenderli Road

    • 156 km construction to support development.

  9. Petropavlovsk Bypass

    • 8 km bypass to improve traffic conditions.

  10. Turkestan Bypass

    • 29.6 km bypass for smoother traffic flow.

  11. Astana–Kostanay–Russian Federation Border Road

    • 830 km upgrade for international connectivity.

  12. Shymkent Bypass

    • 48 km bypass to reduce congestion.

    • 516 km medium repairs for better road conditions.

    • 136 km upgrading for enhanced transport links.

    • 736 km construction to improve connectivity.
