The project involves constructing a large‑scale mining and metallurgical facility at the Syrymbet deposit in the Aiyrtau (Айыртау) District of the North Kazakhstan Region, Kazakhstan. The facility is designed to exploit one of the world’s largest undeveloped tin (Sn)‑rich polymetallic deposits, with tin as the major component and significant by‑products including copper, tungsten and fluorite. The project is considered the largest undeveloped tin deposit in the world (according to the International Tin Association data) with in‑situ resource of 371 kt of tin from 2018 JORC estimate.
The tin market is highly concentrated in China (processing 98% of global output) and Kazakhstan’s entry is strategically important.
The deposit licence covers more than 10 km² and access road and railway logistics are under development (rail siding noted ~30 km away).
Local content and job creation: ~600 to 800 jobs estimated; cooperation with local educational institutions underway. Solidcore
Feasibility work: Metallurgical studies, open‑pit suitability, resource validation drilling (3 km of drilling completed in 2024) have been done.
