Project Description
The cotton–textile cluster is a major industrial initiative in the Turkestan Region of Kazakhstan, implemented by China's Xinjiang Lihua Group. It represents a vertically integrated production chain from cotton cultivation to finished textile and apparel manufacturing. The project includes the construction of 10 industrial plants — four for cotton processing, four textile production factories (spinning, weaving, dyeing, and tailoring), and two facilities for producing drip irrigation and PVC pipes. Over 50,000 hectares of cotton fields will support the raw material supply. The initiative is expected to produce 13,000 tons of yarn, 50 million m² of textile, and 7 million sets of bedding annually. It is considered a cornerstone of Kazakhstan’s plan to boost its light industry and textile exports.
