PROJECT DESCRIPTION
The project involves the construction of a large cheese production plant in Kazakhstan’s Almaty Region. The investment agreement was signed between Aydarbek Saparov, Minister of Agriculture of Kazakhstan, and Gholam Ali Soleimani, President of Iran-based food holding Solico Group. Other important details
The Development Bank of Kazakhstan describes the Sofood Kaz project as a plant for fermented cheese, ultrafiltration-produced cheese, cream cheese and Turkish labneh in Konaev.
Solico Group already has a Kazakhstan market presence through MehKaz, which distributes dairy products, sauces and semi-finished products under brands including Kalleh, MAK and Sorbon.
The investment agreement includes commitments to create at least 400 permanent jobs, train Kazakh specialists and support local communities in Almaty Region with annual social initiatives of around KZT 50 million from 2028 to 2038.
