Project Description
The founder and owner of the ice cream company Shin-Line, Andrey Shin, is entering the private healthcare market: together with a partner from South Korea, he has begun the construction of a 200-bed hospital in Almaty Region. The hospital will improve the healthcare system following the Korean model and ensure the use of advanced technologies. In autumn 2024, Hyundae Hospital from South Korea, the Shin-Line Group, and the Akimat of Almaty Region signed a memorandum on the establishment of a multidisciplinary clinic. At the end of February 2025, the project was formalized legally: the “SLG-Hyundae” hospital was registered as LLP SLG Hyundae Medical. The shares were distributed as follows: 51% — to Kim Bu Sob, 49% — to Shin. According to the plan, 2025 will be devoted to design and state expertise, while construction will begin in 2026.
This project is aimed at creating a modern medical cluster that will:
• provide healthcare services at an international level,
• introduce advanced medical technologies,
• create new jobs,
• adopt South Korea’s expertise in healthcare.
The partnership between Shin-Line and Hyundae Hospital will make a significant contribution to the development of Kazakhstan’s medical infrastructure and to the improvement of citizens’ quality of life.

Investments in the project are estimated at $50 million. The amount includes the cost of construction and the purchase of medical equipment, and itwas determined by Mr. Kim. Shin, for his part, has not yet announced the shareof future investments:he saysthat this momentis still being discussed.
Staff training forthe future hospital has already begun:the partner, according to the interlocutor,has openeda practice for doctors and nurses in his clinics in South Korea.It plansto train 260 people in three years,and they decided to selectthem from all interested Kazakhstani practitioners. "Weare well aware that not all ofthe 260 people will work at our hospital, butwe hope that mostof them will still stay with us," says Shin.
