Project Description

The project involves the construction of the largest chemical complex in Kazakhstan for mineral fertilizer production, with an annual capacity of 1 million tons. It is implemented by Zhanatas Chemical Complex, a sister company of the industry leader Kazphosphate. The plant will employ a unique deep enrichment technology for phosphate ore, addressing historically high impurity levels in the Karatau phosphate deposits—technology unique in the CIS. The complex will generate significant socio-economic impact, creating approximately 1,200 highly skilled jobs, and includes training and internship programs supported by international partners. The facility will operate as an integrated production chain, processing raw materials from ore to finished fertilizers. Modern environmental protection systems and best available technologies will ensure compliance with international ecological standards. The project is expected to strengthen Kazakhstan’s position as a reliable global producer and exporter of mineral fertilizers. Current preparatory work includes drilling and water supply exploration, and securing technical approvals for gas and electricity connections.
