The Sarykum project involves the development of an anthracite coal deposit in the Karaganda region of Kazakhstan, near Lake Balkhash. The project aims to exploit high-quality anthracite, which is rare in Kazakhstan, suitable for use in metallurgical processes, electrodes, absorbents, and electrocorrundum production.
