Fetching Project...
Project Description
he project involves constructing a new urban arterial road and a bridge in Uralsk to improve connectivity to the Akzhayyk residential district. The road will have four lanes with a total length of approximately 3.96 km and a design speed of 80 km/h. Each lane will be 3.5 meters wide, with a total right-of-way of 60 meters.
Infrastructure includes sidewalks from 2.25 to 3 meters wide, safety strips, street lighting, video surveillance, communication networks, and stormwater drainage. The bridge across the Chagan River will be about 220 meters long, supported by monolithic piers on bored piles.
The bridge will have two traffic lanes totaling 7 meters in width, waterproofing, asphalt concrete pavement, drainage systems, barriers, railings, lighting, and stair access. The project is expected to reduce congestion and support urban expansion in Uralsk.
The total project implementation period is up to 36 months from the date of contract conclusion, including 10 months for the development of design and estimate documentation.

Other important details
The founder of Kazakhdorstroy LLP is the private company General Contractors Group Ltd., which is ultimately owned by BI Group Ltd. and BI Capital LLP.
The project has been repeatedly delayed due to route changes and public opposition, primarily related to plans to cut a large number of trees in a city park area. This triggered protests, forcing authorities to revise the alignment multiple times and reconsider environmental impacts.
Additionally, the project faced design inconsistencies and rework, including cases where earlier versions had already passed state expertise but were later reconsidered. This resulted in repeated revisions of technical documentation and planning.
Finally, rising costs and changing technical solutions (including new routing options and engineering requirements) significantly slowed progress, increasing the budget from about KZT 11.7 billion to over KZT 35 billion and delaying the timeline.
