Project Description
The project involves the construction of a modern facility in the Atyrau region of Kazakhstan for the production of purified terephthalic acid (PTA) and polyethylene terephthalate (PET) with a capacity of up to 735 thousand tons of PET per year. The plant will be supplied with 400 thousand tons of paraxylene per year from the Atyrau Refinery. The PET produced will be intended for high-quality applications in the packaging industry, textile manufacturing, and various industrial sectors. Technology will be provided by international companies KOCH Technology Solutions, CHEMTEX, and Polymetrix, ensuring compliance with global standards. The project will be implemented within a special economic zone, benefiting from tax and infrastructure incentives. It is part of the national strategy for developing Kazakhstan’s petrochemical industry and increasing the depth of hydrocarbon processing.
