PROJECT DESCRIPTION
The PepsiCo Snack Production Plant is a large-scale food manufacturing facility being developed by PepsiCo in the city of Alatau in the Almaty Region of Kazakhstan. The plant is expected to process up to 200,000+ tons of potatoes annually once at full capacity.
The project includes cooperation with local agricultural producers to develop contract farming of potato varieties suitable for chip production.
Production capacity is estimated at around 70,000 tons of finished snack products per year.
The facility is expected to create approximately 800–900 jobs.
The plant is one of the anchor industrial projects within the Alatau City development program.
The project underwent environmental impact assessment (EIA) public hearings in Kazakhstan as part of the construction approval process.
