Project Description
The project involves the development of two satellite gold deposits, Novodneprovskoye and Sharyk, in the Burabay district of Akmola region, Kazakhstan, under RG Gold ownership, now part of Zijin Gold International. The development plan includes the construction of open-pit mines for both deposits, designed to extract oxidized gold ores via heap leaching. A new gold-processing facility (heap-leach metallurgical complex) will be built with an annual capacity of 600,000 tons of ore. Supporting infrastructure will include internal roads, administrative and service buildings, water and energy supply systems, and environmental protection facilities, such as monitoring stations and wastewater treatment units. The project aims to extend the existing Raygorodok mining operations and integrate new ore sources efficiently while maintaining environmental compliance. Novodneprovskoye is planned to operate from 2027 to 2031, while Sharyk will be mined in 2030. These works will expand production capacity, optimize ore processing, and ensure safe, regulated operations. The project represents a strategic addition to Zijin’s international portfolio, enhancing Kazakhstan’s gold production.
