Project Description
The project involves constructing a new pharmaceutical production complex in Almaty, Kazakhstan, under the existing JSC Nobel Almaty Pharmaceutical Factory (Nobel AFF) to expand local production of medicines and active pharmaceutical ingredients (APIs) compliant with international GMP standards. It forms part of a broader national initiative to localize pharmaceutical production, reduce import dependence, and strengthen healthcare supply chains. The facility will produce 53 different medicines, including 17 socially significant drugs, with a focus on quality, accessibility, and diversification of the pharmaceutical market. The complex will also include biopharmaceutical production capabilities, boosting innovation and capacity within Kazakhstan’s pharmaceutical sector. The facility is expected to create at least 200 new jobs and enhance the country’s export potential in Central Asia and beyond. Nobel AFF has a history of investment and modernization since 2002 and is being strategically supported by the Government of the Republic of Kazakhstan alongside international partners.
