Project Description
This project involves the construction of a mining and metallurgical plant in the Korday district of Zhambyl region, Kazakhstan. Monterra Qasaqstan LLP, a subsidiary of Germany-based Monterra Group AG, is spearheading the initiative. The facility is designed to produce up to 10 metric tons of gold per year in doré alloy, sourced from the Karatas–Maybulak deposit. Development will occur in three stages and the site covers 300.5 hectares allocated by the regional government. The plant will use the Albion Process technology to handle complex gold ores with carbon, arsenic, and polymetals. The enterprise is expected to operate for over 25 years and create more than 2,800 jobs in the region.
