PROJECT DESCRIPTION
Suzak Phosphate LLP is developing a large integrated phosphate mining and chemical-processing complex in the Suzak District of Turkistan Region, Kazakhstan. The project is designed as a full value chain covering phosphate ore extraction, beneficiation and downstream production of phosphate fertilizers and chemical intermediates. Other important details
The Ushbas-1 mining component has already undergone environmental/public-hearing procedures. A public hearing on the Environmental Protection Section for the open-pit mining plan was held on 19 January 2026 in Kumkent village.
The mining schedule contained in the official environmental file states that mining works are not planned during 2025–2027, primarily because the beneficiation complex and supporting infrastructure must first be developed. Initial Ushbas-1 mining is scheduled from 2028.
The environmental documentation currently available publicly relates primarily to the mining component.
The exact division of EPC responsibility between China Tianchen Engineering and Sinopec Nanjing Engineering has not been fully disclosed.
