Project Description
Iconic Towers is a planned landmark mixed-use skyscraper complex designed as the anchor project of the new Alatau City development in Kazakhstan. The complex will consist of two high-rise towers with a gross floor area of approximately 276,800 square meters, combining office space, residential apartments, a hotel, and retail areas. It is intended to serve as a symbol of Alatau City’s emergence as a regional hub for investment, technology, and business activity, reflecting international architectural standards. The architectural concept is being developed by Skidmore, Owings & Merrill (SOM), a globally recognized American firm noted for major skyscraper projects. Agreements on construction were signed in September 2025 during a state visit by Kazakhstan’s head of state to China, indicating strong government support and international cooperation. The project is part of the broader Gate District development, which aims to provide special economic and business conditions. With significant investment backing, Iconic Towers is positioned to be a focal point for commercial and urban development in the Almaty region.
