This project is to build a high-tech manufacturing plant for food-grade gelatin in Almaty, Kazakhstan. The plant will process cattle hides via a “full-cycle” method to produce gelatin, including higher value-added products, and will have its own wastewater treatment facilities meeting Kazakhstan’s environmental standards. It is led by the Turkish company İskefe Holding through its subsidiary Halavet KZ, reflecting technology transfer and localization of production in Kazakhstan. With a capacity of 7,000 tonnes of gelatin per year, the factory is intended to use largely domestic raw material (cattle hides), thereby adding value to local agricultural by-products. The project is also strategically important for Kazakhstan’s agro-industrial processing sector: it strengthens linkages between livestock farming and industrial production, and supports export potential. State support is being provided under a “model investment agreement,” including infrastructure and land allocation.
