Project Description
LLP "KMG PetroChem" has signed an EPC contract with Tecnimont S.p.A. (Italy) and Consolidated Contractors International Company (CCIC, Lebanon) for the turnkey construction of a Gas Separation Complex (GSC) at the Tengiz oil field.The project involves the design, equipment supply, and construction of a facility with a processing capacity of up to 9.1 billion cubic meters of dry gas per year. This is the first project of such scale in Kazakhstan, enabling the extraction of valuable fractions—up to 1.6 million tonnes of ethane and up to 360 thousand tonnes of propane per year—from dry purified gas supplied by LLP "Tengizchevroil". Ethane will be used as feedstock for the polyethylene plant of LLP "Silleno", while propane will be utilized in other industries, ensuring the sustainable development of the oil and gas chemical sector.
The construction of the GSC at Tengiz represents a strategic step towards the diversification of Kazakhstan’s economy. The project aims to establish a stable raw material base for the petrochemical industry, which will enable the production of high value-added products in demand both in domestic and international markets.
