PROJECT DESCRIPTION
The Tengiz GSC is a large‑scale gas‑processing facility being built near the Tengiz Field oil field in western Kazakhstan. Its main purpose is to treat “dry gas” produced at Tengiz, extracting valuable hydrocarbon fractions — primarily ethane and propane — from the gas stream. Once operational, the complex will process up to 9.1 billion cubic meters of dry gas annually, producing up to about 1.6 million tonnes of ethane and up to 360,000 tonnes of propane per year. UOP (a Honeywell company) is the licensed technology provider for ethane and propane separation units.
The project is expected to create about 1,600 jobs during construction and around 400 permanent jobs during operation.
