Project Description
The project envisions construction of a large‑scale industrial facility to produce food‑grade gelatin and related collagen‑based products from animal by‑products such as hides and bones. It is intended to deepen the processing of livestock by‑products within Kazakhstan and reduce the country’s complete dependence on imports of gelatin. The plant’s output will also include collagen components, feed proteins, and technical fats, adding value to otherwise underutilized raw materials. The targeted annual production capacity is approximately 10,000 tonnes of gelatin per year. The facility aims to strengthen food security, support the domestic food and pharmaceutical sectors, and potentially serve export markets, including halal‑certified production. Government authorities have highlighted the project’s strategic alignment with national agro‑industrial development priorities and state support frameworks are expected to be available. A network of regional collection points for raw hides and bones is planned to ensure a stable supply chain. The formal assignment of construction contracts, project documentation, and regulatory approvals has not yet been publicly disclosed.
