The Data Center Valley project is a strategic national initiative in Kazakhstan to build the largest data center campus in Central Asia near Ekibastuz, Pavlodar Region. The project entered its active implementation phase following government directives reviewed by Prime Minister Olzhas Bektenov in early 2026. It plans a computing ecosystem with an energy capacity of up to 1 GW, covering approximately 1,400–1,500 hectares, including a Greenfield zone for international partners. The development includes phased deployment of AI data centers, each with 50 MW capacity, built to Tier III standards (PUE 1.25). Network modernization is underway to reduce latency and strengthen connectivity. The Ministry of Artificial Intelligence and Digital Development oversees coordination and investment conditions. The Greenfield zone is designed to facilitate entry by global cloud and hyperscale operators. Substations, power lines, and supporting infrastructure are being prepared for scalable operations. The project positions Kazakhstan as a hub for sovereign AI, high-performance computing, and advanced digital infrastructure. Stakeholders continue engaging potential international participants and preparing the site for future expansion.
