Project objective: To provide infrastructure for the Butadiene and Polyethylene projects. The implementation of the project for the construction of the 2nd-stage infrastructure facilities of the SEZ “NIPT” includes the construction of the following facilities:
Water Treatment and Wastewater Treatment Unit, 2nd Stage;
External Water Supply;
Utility Corridor, 2nd Stage;
External Gas Supply Networks, 2nd Stage; and General Plant Infrastructure.
Project location: Karabatan site, territory of the SEZ “NIPT”, Atyrau Region, Kazakhstan.
Feedstock / input resources: hydrocarbon feedstock and treated water.
A related energy infrastructure expansion is also being considered: PowerChina is reported as a potential participant for expanding the existing combined-cycle gas turbine power plant to 330 MW, although this should be treated as a related power-support initiative rather than the core infrastructure EPC package.
