Project Description
The construction of the largest communal market in the region has begun in Semei. The project is being implemented in cooperation with the Social-Entrepreneurial Corporation “Semey.” Construction works are carried out by Xin Yi Ltd, which will transfer the completed facility to the SEC after its commissioning. Local agricultural producers will be provided with free trading spaces to sell their products. The initiative is aimed at stabilizing prices and ensuring the population has access to affordable food. Xin Yi Ltd is fully financing the project. The investment volume at each stage amounts to 5 billion tenge, with a total of three stages planned, amounting to 15 billion tenge. At the first stage, about 2,000 new jobswill be created. As the project develops, trade turnover will increase, and support will be provided to small and medium-sized businesses. Upon full commissioning, up to 5,000 peoplewill be able to work at the market. In addition, the project will strengthen the region’s food security. The new market hasa high potential to become a tradeand logistics hub forboth Kazakhstan and neighboring regions of neighboring countries.
