The project involves the construction of Kazakhstan's first semiconductor chip manufacturing plant in Semey, located in the Abai region. The plant will produce chips, optoelectronic modules, smart host controllers, power supplies, energy-saving lamps, and electronic displays. This initiative is being carried out by the Kazakhstan-China joint venture "SUTO Kazakhstan." The factory is expected to be completed in stages from 2025 to 2028. Upon completion, the plant will focus on supplying products to the CIS countries and Europe. Additionally, the project will create over 500 permanent jobs once fully operational. The plant will also serve as a training center for IT and technology students from local colleges.
