Project Description
A solemn ceremony of signing an investment agreement and laying the foundation stone of a new plant for the production of soft drinks was held in the Almaty region.The event was attended by Chairman of the Investment Committee of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan Gabidulla Ospankulov, representatives of the Government of Kazakhstan, Akimat of Almaty region, the diplomatic corps, as well as the top management of Carlsberg Group and PepsiCo.The new plant will be built on a 17-hectare site in the Ili district of the Almaty region. The production capacity will be about 1 billion liters of beverages per year.More than 230 new jobs are expected to be created. The products will be manufactured under a PepsiCo license and delivered to the markets of Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan.

Gabidulla Ospankulov noted that the implementation of the project confirms Kazakhstan’s favorable investment climate and the strategic importance of partnership with global companies. According to him, the groundbreaking of the plant demonstrates investors’ confidence in the country’s policies to improve the business environment.
In his speech, the Head of the Investment Committee also emphasized that the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and JSC “NC KAZAKH INVEST” are ready to provide full support for the project, including measures to develop related industries and expand localization.
Significant attention is being paid to the development of local related industries. The share of local content in the Group’s procurement structure is 80%, covering items such as barley, wheat, aluminum cans, glass bottles, and cardboard, which are almost entirely purchased from Kazakhstani producers.
The plant will be built in accordance with international standards of quality, environmental friendliness, and energy efficiency, which will strengthen Kazakhstan’s position in the beverages market and promote the development of new technologies and brands.
