Project Description
The BBS‑2 is a strategic major gas infrastructure project in Kazakhstan aimed at expanding the country’s gas transportation network and increasing throughput capacity of the existing Beineu‑Bozoy‑Shymkent pipeline. It will supply natural gas to southern, central, and northern regions of Kazakhstan, underpinning domestic energy security and supporting regional gasification programs. The pipeline is planned to be roughly 1,450 km long and part of broader national energy sector development, including integration with new compressor stations and infrastructure. Implementation reflects strategic agreements between Kazakhstan and the State of Qatar, with investments aimed at enhancing export potential and domestic supply reliability. Works include linear pipeline construction, deployment of compressor stations, shift camps, and maintenance facilities, designed according to current engineering and environmental standards. BBS‑2 also supports Kazakhstan’s commitments to expanded gasification coverage and industrial demand growth.
