Project Description
The Bakhty–Ayagoz railway line is a 272-kilometer double-track rail project connecting Ayagoz in eastern Kazakhstan to Bakhty on the Chinese border. This infrastructure aims to enhance freight capacity between Kazakhstan and China, increasing throughput from 28 million to approximately 48 million tons annually. The project is part of Kazakhstan's broader strategy to bolster its transit and transportation capabilities, aligning with the Belt and Road Initiative.
