Project Description
The Almaty Mountain Cluster (AMC) is an ambitious initiative by the Government of Kazakhstan to transform the Almaty region into Central Asia's premier year-round mountain tourism destination. The project includes the development and integration of several ski resorts, including Shymbulak, Oy-Karagai and Ak-Bulak, through the construction of new cable cars and infrastructure improvements. There are prospects for the development of 300 to 700 km of ski slopes with world-class infrastructure and accessibility for the population. Only in the central zone it is planned to increase the number of elevators from 16 to 58. It is expected to increase the throughput capacity by 5.6 times, from 6 to 34 thousand people per day, and the creation of more than 10 thousand new jobs and will contribute significantly to the diversification of Kazakhstan's economy and its global tourist attractiveness.
