The project involves the construction of Kazakhstan’s first alkylate production plant in Pavlodar region, based on a butane-butylene fraction. The plant will produce approximately 100,000 tons per year of alkylate, a high-octane gasoline component with a low content of harmful impurities such as sulfur, aromatics, and unsaturated hydrocarbons. Alkylate meets Euro-5 (K-5) standards, improves fuel quality, ensures stable combustion, and enhances engine performance, providing an environmentally friendly alternative to traditional additives like MTBE or N-methylaniline. The project aims to modernize Kazakhstan’s fuel industry, develop the petrochemical sector, and reduce dependence on imports.
Once operational, the plant is expected to supply both domestic and regional markets, including CIS countries, enhancing the country’s export potential. The facility will be equipped with modern technological equipment that complies with international quality and safety standards. Implementation of the project will create new jobs and support the development of local infrastructure in Pavlodar. In addition, it will contribute to the production of cleaner gasoline, reducing CO₂, NOₓ, and carcinogenic emissions. Overall, the project represents a major step toward deeper hydrocarbon processing and strengthening Kazakhstan’s refining and petrochemical capabilities.

According to Intertrans C.A. is constructing the plant and has signed a credit line agreement with the Development Bank of Kazakhstan. The company is owned by Arailym Khamitova and Prime Petrochemicals Ltd., which in turn belongs to Azat Yermembetov and Murat Kudiyarbek. According to public sources, Yermembetov was a shareholder of Bank RBK in 2014, while Kudiyarbek serves as the CEO of Intertrans C.A.
