Project Description
The Qazaq Kaolin project involves the construction of a modern mining and beneficiation complex (ГОК) at the Alekseevskoye kaolin deposit in Zerenda District, Akmola Region, Kazakhstan. The project is designed to process locally sourced kaolin ore into enriched kaolin and related mineral products such as quartz sands, supporting domestic industrial supply chains. The company owns long‑term rights for extraction and commercialization and aims to adopt wet‑processing technology consistent with contemporary industry standards. This complex will be the first large‑scale kaolin processing plant of its kind in Kazakhstan since independence, addressing the historical gap in mineral processing infrastructure in the region. The facility is expected to strengthen the industrial base of the Akmola region, support downstream ceramic and glass sectors, and create employment for local residents. Logistics infrastructure includes a dedicated rail siding and substantial warehousing capacity. The project has been included in the Regional Industrialization Map of the Akmola region due to its strategic economic significance. Current information indicates that construction progress is underway and remains on schedule for commissioning in 2026. The plant’s annual production capacity is projected at approximately 90,000 tonnes of enriched kaolin, with additional output of quartz sand. The investment includes significant private capital and infrastructure upgrades, including electrical supply and processing facilities.
