Project Description
Construction of a plant for the intake, transshipment and fractionation of liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) from the Kashagan field has started in Atyrau region. The project is aimed at ensuring stable supplies of LPG to the domestic market and reducing the shortage of natural gas fuel. Alibek Zhamauov, Vice Minister of Energy of the Republic of Kazakhstan, got acquainted with the progress of the project, visiting the construction site as part of a working trip. During the inspection, the current status of the works and further plans for the commissioning of the facility were discussed. The construction is carried out within the framework of agreements between the Ministry of Energy of the Republic of Kazakhstan and the contracting companies of the North Caspian project under a production sharing agreement. In 2024, a CIS purchase and sale agreement was signed between QazaqGaz JSC and North Caspian Operating Company LLP, and a Roadmap for the project was approved. The construction is carried out according to the Build-Own-Operate model in accordance with the agreement between JSC "QazaqGaz" and LLP "Eskene LPG". Zero-cycle work is currently underway: the territory is being planned, the foundations and foundation pits are being prepared for laying the foundations for the equipment, as well as welding work on the CIS gas pipeline. The first batch of liquefied gas storage tanks has been delivered to the facility.
