Kazakhstan and the Chinese company China Energy Engineering Group signed an agreement on the construction of a 300 MW solar power plant in Turkistan Region. The plant is aimed at strengthening the energy security of Kazakhstan’s southern regions and developing green generation. The signing ceremony of the investment agreement and the power purchase agreement between the Ministry of Energy of Kazakhstan and China Energy Engineering Group took place in the presence of Kassym-Jomart Tokayev. The new solar power plant will be located in the Sauran district of Turkistan Region. The Ministry of Energy emphasized that the construction of the solar plant will make a significant contribution to diversifying the country’s energy balance and achieving strategic targets for increasing the share of renewable energy sources.
