Project Description
This project represents a strategic initiative by Turkey’s Çalık Holding, through its mining subsidiary Lidya Mines, to enter Kazakhstan’s mineral resource sector. In June 2025, Lidya Mines and Kazakh Invest held high-level talks aimed at launching geological exploration and mining development projects. The parties discussed the possibility of acquiring subsoil use rights through national auctions, as well as investing in copper, gold, and polymetallic deposits. Çalık Holding plans to establish a permanent presence in Kazakhstan, beginning with the opening of a regional office. The company is currently analyzing more than 50 investment-ready mining sites identified by Kazakh Invest. The project emphasizes sustainable development, local community engagement, and compliance with Kazakhstan’s environmental and industrial policies.
