Alatau Lithium LLP holds exploration and mining licenses for the Upper-Baymurzin, Ahmetkino, Bakennoye, Medvedki, and Yubileyno deposits.
The project is currently in the exploration and design phase; the first industrial lithium production is scheduled for 2028.
Government planning for water, energy, and transport infrastructure (including power lines and rail access) for the mining and processing plant is expected to be implemented through interministerial programs by 2029.
The project is a bilateral German-Kazakh initiative, giving it strategic and commercial significance for both countries.
The EPC contractor has not yet been publicly announced; full-scale construction will depend on completion of geological studies and obtaining all regulatory approvals.
