StructureCraft was engaged for the design and production quality of modern timber structures used in the project. According to the government announcement, these timber structures are an important element of the architectural concept developed by Foster + Partners. StructureCraft’s role should be shown as mass timber engineering / structural design and production support, not as a general contractor for the whole resort.
The project has a 30-month construction period according to the environmental summary, with construction-stage waste estimated at 122,794.18 tonnes and annual operational waste estimated at 795.32 tonnes per year. Most construction waste is expected to consist of inert materials such as soil, stones, asphalt concrete, mixed construction waste, concrete and brick. Waste burial at the project site is not planned; the stated handling model is temporary accumulation, separate collection and transfer to specialized licensed organizations.
The construction-stage water demand is estimated at up to 67,080 m³ per year, while operational water demand can reach up to 2,700 m³ per day during peak periods. The project also requires a dedicated water supply for artificial snowmaking, with the source identified as the Kazachka River and accumulation in planned reservoirs. Direct discharge of wastewater into surface water bodies is not planned.
The land-use framework is restrictive: the land remains state-owned and is provided for long-term paid use until 27 March 2051 for tourism-related engineering infrastructure. The document states that construction of private houses, estates, villas and cottages is prohibited.
Investment amount for standalone Almaty Superski: not officially disclosed. The approved broader Almaty Mountain Cluster Comprehensive Plan for 2025–2029 is reported at 526 billion tenge, including 190.5 billion tenge from the republican budget, 96.6 billion tenge from the local budget and 238.9 billion tenge from extra-budgetary sources.
