Other important details

  • Construction works are expected to begin this year - 2026, with the commissioning of the facility planned for 2029.

  • Shareholding changes have occurred in Aidarly Project JSC: the 68.95% stake previously held by Kazakhmys Corporation LLP was transferred to Qaz Copper Group LLP, while the Dutch company Aidarly B.V. retained its 31.05% share. As a result, a controlling stake in this former Kazakhmys subsidiary moved from the new owner of the Kazakhmys group, Nurlan Artykbaev, back to the company’s former owners, Vladimir Kim and Eduard Ogay. The ownership restructuring took place on 18 February 2026.

  • The project is classified as a strategic mining investment by the Government of Kazakhstan. A new concentrator facility will be constructed, with copper recovery expected at 87%, molybdenum at 63.8%, and pyrite at 48.7%. Subsoil use contract rights are valid through 2048. The deposit is considered among the largest untapped copper resources in the country. No economic feasibility study was completed as of 2011, but project development plans are advancing under Kazakhmys’s control. The project will generate significant employment and contribute to the expansion of Kazakhstan’s copper output.
