The project involves the localization of production of Valley irrigation machines in Kazakhstan by the international company Valmont Industries in partnership with the Kazakh industrial company Imstalcon. Valley is a globally recognized brand specializing in mechanized irrigation systems, particularly center-pivot and linear irrigation machines used in large-scale agriculture. The project aims to establish local manufacturing capacity for irrigation equipment in order to increase the availability of modern irrigation technologies for farmers in Kazakhstan and the wider Central Asian region. The initiative aligns with Kazakhstan’s national agricultural policy, which prioritizes the expansion of irrigated farmland and the adoption of water-saving technologies. According to government targets, up to 150,000 hectares of farmland are expected to adopt water-efficient irrigation technologies annually. The localization of production will reduce dependence on imported irrigation equipment and support the modernization of Kazakhstan’s agricultural sector. The project will also contribute to improving water efficiency in agriculture and mitigating climate-related risks affecting crop production. The plant is expected to manufacture between 300 and 500 irrigation machines annually once fully operational. By partnering with a local industrial company, the project seeks to ensure efficient manufacturing and distribution of irrigation systems across Kazakhstan. The initiative is expected to strengthen the country’s agrotechnology ecosystem and support the development of irrigated agriculture.
