The New Balkhash Copper Smelter is a major metallurgical investment project planned for Balkhash, Karaganda Region, Kazakhstan. The project is being developed by Qazaq Smelter LLP under a government-approved investment agreement with Kazakhstan's Ministry of Industry and Construction. According to the Government's September 2026 report, the facility is designed to process up to 1.5 million tonnes of copper concentrate annually.
